What is Chiropractic Medicine?
Chiropractic Medicine is a hands-on field that focuses on the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems. Chiropractors use spinal adjustments to correct the body's alignment and restore proper movement to the spine and its joints to promote optimal health and biomechanical function.
By ensuring proper alignment and movement, the body allows for the nerves passing in and out of the spine to be healthy and less irritated. Not only does chiropractic restore movement, but it decreases pain that is created by insult to the nervous system.
Chiropractic also focuses on the muscles and joints outside the spine, such as:
- Pelvis (SI Joints)
- Hips
- Knees
- Ankles
- Shoulders
- Elbows
- Wrists
In today's world, people are more stressed and less active than they should be to maintain healthy minds and bodies. If you sit more than 3-4 hours a day, lift heavy objects for work, or find yourself stressed most days, then your body and nervous system take a toll. Chiropractic helps restore proper function to the body and nervous system to promote healing and alleviate the pains of everyday life.
